How long have you worked in Edwards & Co?
I joined the firm in February 2015 after previously working in a high profile City Centre practice and then a regional firm also based in Belfast.
Do you specialise in any particular area?
I have been specialising in Property matters for over 17 years dealing with domestic and commercial transactions. My main case load sees me dealing with developers in site acquisition, development and disposal together with landlord and tenant matters in commercial leases/licences.
I also advise in relation to finance/securitisation of complex property transactions and regularly assist the Charity Team in relation to the property matters.
My passion is helping small businesses hitting the ground running and keeping them on the right track providing advice at start up, structure and business sales or purchases.
What do you like about what you do?
In one word…”people”.
I find it hugely rewarding helping the myriad of people that I come into contact with and the parts of their lives or businesses I can help them with or simplify for them.
What’s the best case you’ve ever worked on?
That’s a tough question. The best cases are transactions that you can physically see develop before your eyes. I acted for a developer preparing his landmark site to go to market. The amalgamation of over 30 parcels of title to one standardised document was a challenge. The reward is passing the landmark building everyday and seeing the residents going about their daily business oblivious to the technical detail that went on prior to their purchase.
