I joined Edwards and Company in 2010 as a paralegal, commenced training as an apprentice with the firm in 2011 and qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
Do you specialise in any particular area?
I am primarily attached to the Family and Matrimonial Department and deal with a large range of Family and Matrimonial matters including contact, residence, care order cases and matters arising from the breakdown of a marriage such as financial agreements. I also ably assist the Litigation Department and have conducted numerous noise induced hearing loss claims at both County Court and High Court level.
What do you like about what you do?
I am passionate about helping clients during what can be particularly difficult times. I enjoy working on domestic cases and new areas of law such as cyber bullying and harassment via Facebook and Twitter etc.
What’s the best case you’ve ever worked on?
My most rewarding case to date was representing a young mother who was subject to care order proceedings brought by social services. She was in a bad place, extremely vulnerable and suffering poor mental health. I represented her from the beginning of the proceedings, assisted her with engaging with social services and helped her enrol in courses which ultimately changed her lifestyle and concluded by her having her children rehabilitated back to her care.
What Carla’s clients say about her:
“I really appreciated Carla’s help and encouragement”
“I had first class service from Carla, helpful to deal with and helpful with process”
