The President of the Industrial Tribunal, at a presentation to Employment Lawyers on Monday 6th November, conveyed his concerns about the lack of capacity the NI Tribunal system currently has in dealing with all claims regarding holiday pay, which now revert to the Tribunal in Belfast for assessment of compensation.

Considering the volume of claims and lack of Employment Judges, the President estimates it may take over a decade to dispose of all such Holiday Pay compensation hearings, as all are fact sensitive and potentially document heavy. He urges all parties to settle claims.
