Charities on the Charity Register will see a change to their marked status on the register since Monday 10 November 2020. In light of the recent Court of Appeal case those charities are no longer legally registered so the status has been removed so it will no longer show “in default” or “due documents received late” or “recently registered” or “up to date”. No reminders will be sent from the Commission regarding annual reports annual monitoring return or trustees’ annual reports as there is no legal requirement to do so. This is another consequence of the Court of Appeal judgment. However it is best practice to continue to submit those reports in any event as they may be of assistance to beneficiaries, potential funders or donors or others seeking information about the charity.
